The Greater Philadelphia Area
Convinced of tango’s power to include everyone, pianist Winnie Cheung launched Tango With Winnie to bring live tango dance and music to both classic and unconventional tango corners of the world: concert halls, milongas, art galleries, farmers markets, K-12 schools, universities, dementia homes, assisted living spaces, prisons, town-wide multicultural celebrations, and more. Tango has deep magic: it reawakens memories of the body and of the mind; it tolerates differences; it shares cultures. With veteran artists that Winnie brings from all over the world, Tango with Winnie handcrafts each program towards any imaginable objective of your event, and invites you sincerely to tango, whoever you are, wherever you are.
Philadelphia Argentine Tango School
Bringing together a quartet of the highest caliber composed of female musicians, Tango with Winnie will hold numerous outreach events during the festival week in the greater Philadelphia area in schools and other public spaces in reflection of Philadelphia Argentine Tango School long-standing inclusive vibe and commitment to community building around the world. The quartet – bandoneon, violin, piano, bass – of course, will explode musically in the Tango with Winnie fashion on Friday: Join us in this outpour of musical exuberance at a sit-down concert, followed by a grand communal release of kinetic energy on the dance floor at the live music milonga immediately following!
