Announcing the beginning of a new weekly zoom gathering, “Hangout with Winnie” beginning this Saturday August 5, 2pm New York time (EST)!

This gathering is for musicians only worldwide — composers, arrangers, instrumentalists / vocalists who are fanatical or simply curious about the process of making tango music!

As Winnie promised this year’s extraordinary group of Tanguero Workshop for Musicians,
Tango with Winnie will re-start the popular pandemic Bando Hangout With Winnie, but including EVERY musician!

Come with a snippet of your new C scale on the Bandoneon; 4-bars of your new composition; a question about tango bowing on the violin, or how to overcome stage-fright; come with a recording / score of your newest arrangement performed by your / my band; come with a half-cooked solo or any sort of work-in-progress… possibilities are endless! The moderator – Winnie – will ensure optimal vibe in the most friendly and supportive environment for us to discover the joy of tango music making, and to create a safe space for honing our art. All levels welcome! Put your pride and ego aside and join us in the trenches!! Let’s continue our communal loving together behind this years magnificent Tanguero Workshop! Tango with Winnie Endorsements

My personal take is that Ms. Cheung truly represents the spirit of tango and its deep message. I am originally from Argentina and I was born in the city of Buenos Aires, the cradle of tango. As a tango lover, I know that tango music represents the way people live. The rich variety of rhythms in its music represent the way we walk and the melodies and phrasing represents the way we talk with our own accent. As far as I am concerned, Ms. Cheung is Argentinean and one of the best representatives of tango in the US.

All of our students were enthralled with her live performance of examples on both bandoneon and piano.
